Head Pupils

Head Pupils

Every year, our staff vote for 5 pupils in Year 6 to take part in our school council as the 'leadership' team who supports the younger children.

In order to teach the school council about democracy, the Year 5 leadership team then share speeches with the council to share how they think they would be effective in a head pupil role.

The school council then vote for the two Year 6 pupils who they think will lead our school council most effectively.  Democracy is a British Value and it's so good to see it lived out in practice in our school.

This year the children elected Poppy and Ruby.  We are delighted for them and can't wait to see what wonderful ways they represent and support St Joseph's.
