Staying Active At Home

It's so important right now that we stay at home as much as possible whilst also minimising contact with other households.

However it also important to try and stay as healthy as possible during this time.  One way of doing this is attempting to maintain or improve your physical health.  This part of the website is dedicated to helping your child and the rest of your family stay as physically healthy as possible during this difficult time.  Please make sure that if you need any further guidance about this contact Mr McGovern at the school office or on Class Dojo.

Premiership Rugby Champions Learn With Us.

Good Afternoon,

I am writing to you to share some exciting news of a new ‘Premiership Rugby Champions Learn with Us’ series of home schooling videos, which launched last week. The video series has been designed to help families and teachers with home-schooling.

What is Premiership Rugby Champions Learn with us?

We understand the pressure on teachers and parents to keep children engaged in learning during this latest lockdown, and we want to help – which is why we are launching these online lessons. Home-schooling can be a struggle and we hope that these new online lessons will help engage, educate and entertain children whilst at home. Our aim is to help children maintain not only their levels of numeracy, but also their health. Premiership Rugby Champions is created in association with learning technology company Aspire2Be, and supported by the Greggs Foundation, CVC Foundation and the BT Supporters Club.

Who are the home learning videos for?

Designed and delivered by Premiership Rugby Champions teachers, the live lessons will use rugby to inspire KS2 primary children to learn mathematics and PHSE. Themed Tackling Numeracy and Tackling Health, this week’s lessons will specifically look at 2D shapes and healthy eating.

How can I access the sessions?

From Wednesday 20 January, Premiership Rugby Champions Learn with Us lessons will be streamed live, every Wednesday and Friday at 10.00am.These can be accessed for free either to watch live, or on demand via www.premiershiprugby.com/learnwithus

We hope you will join us. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to get in contact by emailing community@premiershiprugby.com
The LFC Foundation

We have been working with the LFC Foundation for a number of years now, entering teams of boys and girls from a variety of Year groups into their academy tournaments and training sessions.  As these tournaments cannot currently take place, LFC are now offering online sessions targeting physical and mental health, aimed specifically at children who are remote learning.  If you are interested in taking part in these, please sign up at the link below, and you will be send Zoom links to access these sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Homecourt - Basketball App

Homecourt is a really fun and interactive free basketball app, unfortunately only available on Apple so if you have an iPhone or iPad you can download this for free.

Basketball is a very popular sport within our school and this is a great way of both keeping active and improving skills. The majority of the activities do require a large ball (football, basketball, netball etc.) but there are fun agility games on it too. We will be using this app as part of 'Stay at Home Healthy' challenge over the next few weeks.

If you are to download this app make sure that you do not share any personal information.

Please click on the link below.
